Yunhu spent some time in a wizards college in the House of the Umbral Key but left for unknown reasons.   Some time later, he was introduced to the Red Fox Company by his old friend, Ana Wren and spent some time working with them as part of the mercenary company.   After completing his term, Yunhu left the company to continue his growth as a warrior. However, his time among his companions and his discovery of a Headband of Intellect have reignited his interest in the arcane and he has now reclaimed his old spellbook from Ana's keeping. He now strives to find balance between his martial prowess and his interest in magic, hoping to one day put the headband aside.   Yunhu strives to be supportive of his companions, valuing freedom of choice above almost all else.   This often ends with him taking an 'overwatch' position in the group, looking to cover anyone who looks like they're having trouble.   In social situations, he focuses on those who look like they're struggling and tries to help where possible, although a solidly built man in heavy armour is not the most subtle influence.  

Trivia:

  Yunhu has a complete aversion to mental or emotional manipulation magic, refusing to cast it.   He is traumatised after his experience dealing with Setsuna Moon, refusing to engage with her.   Yunhu felt a strange draw to a set of ancient storm priest's robes in the Museum of Thousand.

All members of House Honghu / Red Fox Company, but in particular:   Ana Wren, Honghu wizard. An old wizard college buddy who introduced Yunhu to the House.  

Familiar:

Yunhu met a curious fox spirit made of mist after escaping his dreamtime in the Feywild. The two of them rejoined the rest of the party and escaped back to the material plane. Back in Thousand, Yunhu completed the Find Familiar spell, binding the newly named Vulpix as his Familiar.   Vulpix is a spirit made of thick fog that runs freely across the air but struggles to hold his shape on the ground. He assists the party in combat by flaring out his fog, disorientating enemies and granting advantage to those who attack during the confusion.   He doesn't eat but is exceedingly fond of the flavour of bacon.

Headband of Intellect

Headgear, uncommon, requires attunement.   This headband has a draconic motif woven into the fabric, and minute arcane runes can be discerned among the scale patterns.   These headbands are often worn by arcane students trying to cheat during their exams. Anyone with an academic magical background will recognise the headband for what it is.   Effects: Your Intelligence score is 19 while you wear this headband. It has no effect on you if your intelligence is already 19 or higher without it.    

Superior Spellbook Case

Item, common, does not require attunement   This elaborate metal box is just large enough to hold a wizard's spellbook. Clever mechanisms and seals make the box waterproof, fireproof and idiot-proof. It shuts with a clasp but no lock. Crafted by Sekket as a gift for Yunhu.   Effects:
  • This box will keep its contents safe from most damage.
