Renegade Wharf

Honey believe me. I swear I never perused Madame Azul's Palace of Relaxation. I was merely going in to get Outhar. There was most definitely no ogling involved, definitely did not enjoy the beautiful sites to see there

Purpose / Function

The Renegade Wharf was originally designed as the primary loading area for ships coming and going from Gulmire. However, nowadays the wharf is home to some of Gulmires most famous pubs, bar, taverns and exotic markets. This change occurred when the new Royal Docks where constructed, making the wharf no longer needed. Once the new docks opened, the government of Gulmire sold various parts of the wharf off to individuals. These individuals then renovated the area, creating the vibrant and bustling centre of debauchery that it is famous for today.

History

The wharf was constructed during the early days of Gulmire, when the city was still small and beginning to makes it's way in the world. However it quickly saw increased use as settlers arrived from Maloth to help populate the city. These early settlers led to the construction of the first expansion of the wharf in which its size was tripled and the wharf began its first purpose of immigration processing. It was here many of the City of Gulmire's oldest and most powerful families began their journey.
Once the city had grown larger, the docks were repurposed to accommodate larger vessels. They mostly dealt in cargo with passenger vessels being redirected to a western expansion of the wharf. The wharf reached its largest size during this point and would steadily see further improvements as time went on until eventually the city outgrew the capacity of the wharf.
This time the city decided on building a new wharf area which would have a easier time expanding in the future and was accessed by a new route. With the focus moved to the new wharf the Renegade wharf saw a rapid decline in use as larger ships, which were becoming the norm could no longer use it, relegating only small fishing boats to its patrons. The final nail in the coffin was when the new docks received their first expansion and the government of Gulmire decided to no longer maintain the old wharf.
Locals interested in using the side as a spot for development quickly bought up sections of the wharf from the noble diet and began construction of what is now Gulmire's thriving and seedy underbelly. Ebery imaginable service is available in Renegade Wharf, for the right price that is.
In recent years after growing concerns for the lack of control in the area a barracks was placed in the wharf in which a number of Guards and Gartian were stationed. Since then the area has seen an increase is stability and safety with the less reputable users having either moved away or clean up.
