Scope
The motivation behind building Those Called Legends
To build a realistic pokemon world to my tastes and views, while keeping is as pokemon as possible, meaning sometimes biology and logic just won't make sense. See: how the bumblebee can fly.
It'll also tackle things I find fun or want to explore at the time.
Basically, this is my playpen and I'm gonna have fun.
The goal of the project
Something fun that makes me think of it as a world and not just a series of video games I enjoy.
The fact that I yeeted in Detective Conan and Magic Kaito only adds another layer of 'can I do this'.
Those Called Legends's Unique Selling point
It's a live-action Pokemon AU that uses the female player characters and either sidelines or erases the male counterparts completely, which isn't something I've seen in these kinds of AUs. There's also gender flips and Self Inserts and sometimes Retcons.
The DCMK part is how can mix this with pokemon while keeping DCMK's plot relatively intact to show that not everything in the world is solved via pokemon battles.
Pokemon battles help sometimes, but not always.
Theme
Genre
A mix of everything. If it amuses me or I want to explore it in fiction, I will add it in.
Reader Experience
It should feel like you can go live in it, like it's as complicated as Earth is.
Reader Tone
The tone is somewhere in the middle.
Recurring Themes
Pokemon.
Lots of pokemon.
Character Agency
Character agency is pretty good, though this AU does not focus on the long term effects of said actions unless required by the overall plot or the creator thinks it'd be fun to figure out.
Focus
The life of the Pokemon Protags. Anything else is filled in as required.
If there's time, the role of the Pokemon is to be fleshed out more, but largely the world is seen through the eyes of the protags of the games.
Drama
Pokemon.
Because you can't escape the fact these are basically magical buillshit animals that are far more powerful than humans.
