Finding the bracelet

When I get back to my room, there's a brown paper bag on my bed. I pick it up and a piece of paper flutters down onto the duvet. Thought this might help, the scrawled hand reads.
Intrigued, I reach into the bag and find a cold metal object. It's round with patterns engraved into it which feel strange to the touch. Once it's in the light, I can see the central knot set with two black stones.
"Help how?" I wonder aloud. The metal warms in my hand and the skin on my back prickles. "Ouch" I gasp, dropping the bracelet onto the floor. The searing pain of my wounds floods back in and I am paralysed for an instant.
"Where did you go?" I ask once I can breath again. I drop to the floor and scrabble around trying to find it. "There you are" I say when my fingers once again close around the cold metal. As soon as we touch, the pain subsides. "So that's what you do" I say. I pull the bracelet over my hand, it feels natural on my wrist almost as if it had always been there. The metal warms to the temperature of my skin like it is part of me.

"You look better" is the first thing Al says to me when I go to visit him.
"So do you, elfie" I laugh, sitting down next to him.
"That's new" he comments, pulling up my sleave so he can better see my new bracelet, "where did you get it?"
"Someone left it on my bed" I tell him, pulling my arm away from him and covering it back up with my sleave, "I don't know who or why, but it seems to have healed my cuts."
"So you just decided to wear it, this mysterious magical object someone left for you to find?"
"Hey, a nice bracelet is a nice bracelet elfie."
He rolls his eyes at me but we both smile at the absurdity of it all.
