Convention on Magical Secrecy

Purpose

To agree the terms of the use of magic across the world to prevent the use of magic in warfare ever again.

Clauses

  1. It is forbidden for magical beings and creatures to attack non-magical beings.
  2. It is forbidden to use magic against other states.
  3. It is forbidden to for magical beings to reveal the existance of magic to non-magical people. 
  4. It is forbidden for magical beings to willingly allow magical creatures to reveal magic to non-magical people. 

Caveats

Any magical being found to have broken this agreement will be imprisoned indefinately. 
Any magical creaature found to have broken this statute will be destroyed.

Publication Status

This document is public knowledge, under the international law of the League of Magic it must be prominantly displayed in public buildings in all member states.

Legal status

Every member state in the League of Magic is required to follow this statute.

Historical Details

Background

Following the first and second world wars, the United Nations and the League of Magic worked to put an end to the conflict between their two worlds. 
This convention was intended to unify the secrecy laws of all member nations and create an international standard for the acceptable use of magic.

Public Reaction

The general reaction of the Magic Users across the world was very mixed as some were glad to find a way to end the conflicts while others were angry at the restrictions being placed upon them.
