Mauray - CD First Contact

The Mauray Federation makes first contact with the CD.
  Of course, the 2 sides ended up fighting each other. The CD was, like the HM, largely overwhelmed by the existence of magitech and initially had no answer. 
  Over time, they developed countermeasures to magic. This would take the CD longer to do than the HM, despite the AI nature of the HM. This is because the HM analyzed the effects it had on its material down to individual atoms and were rapidly able to establish that magitech does not follow the known laws of physics.
  The CD took longer to accept this as they tried to obtain much more evidence of its properites.
  Of course, the CD became very interested in the technology of the Mauray and tries to understand magitech to use for themselves.
