Tal'lan Rifle
A type of assault rifle designed with a high fire rate by the Sulethis Republic.
The Tal'lan is large and powerful, making use of railgun rails in its construction. Every round is propelled by both advanced weapon chemicals and electromagnetism. This means that the weapon can have an extremely large recoil, which can make it inaccurate. The extremely high velocity rounds can be very morale damaging from the massive sound moving past very quickly. It can however also penetrate very light armour. It is not very good at this, but can do so (unlike most weapons of its role).
The high fire rate is achieved through an advanced firing mechanism and is magazine fed. Most magazines can hold around 30 rounds and are large and bulky. This (along with the railguns large energy draw) has made logistics somewhat difficult. Due to this, they are sometimes used as mounted LMGs and beltfed. These have a very high firepower but cannot move.
