Reversible Thruster

A highly advanced thruster technology of the Tranal Nomads.
Reversible thrusters can come in many forms, such as main starship drives and even RCS thrusters, though they are typically used as the latter. It even still works on vectored thrusters. However these would require the starship they are built on to generate negative mass; Reversible thrusters work by switching between a regular thrust and negative mass thrust mode. Though negative mass can be expensive, the banfranal have managed to produce it on a massive scale using negative mass reactors.These can give the TN a greatly improved speed and redundancy which will allow them to still move even if an entire side of a ship has all the thrusters destroyed. This is one thing enemies of the TN must take into account before any battle with them.
Reversable thrusters have been used for many years, so have been tested thousands of times, making them surprisingly reliable. Of course, they are also often built with several different sets of redundant components in accordance with typical TN doctrine. This, as well as the fact they are almost always used in large numbers, means that TN starships are nearly impossible to mobility-kill, making this technology a cornerstone of the TN.
