Phased Xalarin Compound

A very strong and advanced armour material of the Xalarin Council.

Phased Xalarin Compound (PXC) is created through the use of Pauli Exclusion Violation Machine PEVMs to place plates of metal inside each other for many times the strength. This also increases the mass of the armour but takes up very little room within the vehicle and allows for very strong hulls that can obtain slightly higher acceleration, firepower and performance and with far fewer weak points.

This lack of weak points often frustrates gunners of other factions and even challenges advanced fire control systems of the HF. If the PEVM is destroyed though, it is likely to turn the armour into a fusion bomb and either ignite the ship or become very weak as it turns into a different material entirely. As such, the PEVM projecting the PXC armour is often well defended.

The effect that this has on armour is remniscient to that of Phase Matter except with the same strength to mass ratio, rather than an increasing strength to mass ratio.

PXC can sometimes come in many layers that each serve different roles, such as hardened plates and heat resistant plates. They typically use tens of plates, sometimes 2 or more of these each would have similar roles and functions for redundancy. They have at least one type of plate for almost every role.

PXC is a highly advanced material, designed to fill a massive range of roles and plates could be swapped relatively easily, which gives the XC a valuable advantage in combat. Sometimes even HF weapons can struggle against it - but the XC cannot field numbers as large as other factions.
