N.T.S. Dawn
The initial worldship of the Tranal Nomads.
N.T.S. Dawn is a massive starship, with a lot of resources in stockpile when the TN race was engineered. It is over 300 km in length; a ship that is comparable in size to some megastructures such as space elevators.
It would be so large that it has its own gravitational field, but the Xadia artifact that seeded the species also does gravity cancelling. Due to this, the ship remains stable and usable.
N.T.S. Dawn saw the entire history of this race and remains operational to this day. This race did have its own wars, as any other civilization did. Countries were established, nations rise and fall. One problem persisted though - they could not power this ship without sufficient industrial base. N.T.S. Dawn is powered by an incredibly advanced fusion reactor. But how would it get the required fuel if there is nowhere to dock?
Still, the civilization there managed to expand. Though it was dark, it was warmed up by stellar radiation from the star it was orbiting. Life on the ship evolved accordingly.
Although they could not use the fusion reactor, they could power their own equipment, such as computers and motors, when they were invented. They built various kinds of power plants during their history, starting off with coal power. Any waste matter was dumped into space.
By their space age, they figured out how to deploy craft into space. Doing so was not difficult as there was no gravitational field to escape. They found several gas giants, which they found to be made mostly of hydrogen. Studies on the main reactor units of N.T.S. Dawn caused them to realize that was a fusion reactor. By this point, their scientific community was wondering what would happen if it was to somehow synthesize hydrogen from these gas giants and power up the ship itself. It sure seemed capable of movement - as well as many other functions.
They eventually set up a method of collecting the hydrogen, as speculated. By deploying massive, space elevator-like stations, they could collect hydrogen near constantly. This hydrogen was shipped over by shuttle, until they finally initiated startup procedure. A quiet hum ran through the reactor room, which was surprisingly quiet. Minutes later, after it has started up, the ships lights finally came on. They were no longer reliant on the stars radiation for survival. Their ship became capable of movement, including FTL, they eventually found. They firstly set up a more reliable method of collecting hydrogen. To this end, they constructed a new section on the ship for fuel shuttles of their own design. These new shuttles could fly into gas giants to collect fuel. They would also compress it heavily into a liquid hydrogen state of matter. These then went back up to N.T.S. Dawn, and capable of holding a lot of fuel.
The Dawn also became the lead ship of a fleet of worldships operated by the TN. It has been built to have the capability to produce other immense starships while also keeping them fueled.
The ship also had a very large stockpile of raw resources during the early history of the Banfranal race. This stockpile was added by Xadia Ancients to help the TN expand and progress, so that they wouldn't be required to break apart their ship for resources. However, if needed, they could also obtain more resources from mining planets or through nuclear fusion, though the latter method is difficult to scale up. The former would slow them down significantly.
Due to this, then they made contact with other factions, they relied on trading. They traded complex goods such as toys, food, information and weapons for materials to sustain their civilization. Eventually, they would discover that the N.T.S. Dawn also comes with an intergalactic drive, which the other ships of its fleet could use. (The drive works by creating a wormhole in front of it similar to an IGWD)
