The Naraleain class was designed to provide Tranal Nomads space forces with copious amounts of firepower and provide supporting fire to entire battlegroups. The Naraliein class is not designed to take hits though - but its sheer speed can also protect it effectively. It can outrun most battleships, but it would have trouble with kiting smaller ships such as frigates. The Naralaein class strictly serves a support role, and requires the screen of a large army to perform the role well.
When outside of combat, more Banfranal are seen performing EVA missions in Gel Suits on the Naralein class than any other TN non-worldship starship. This is because there are a large number of checks that need to be made on the outer hull as part of the repair process. This has made the ship less popular with the crews, however its role can often have the opposite effect, essentially canceling each other out. It has a reputation for requiring patience, but keeping its crew safe if they are patient.
They can also double as low capacity logistics vessels. As the naralein class was designed with a large cargo capacity and surprisingly large speed for its size, they can supply a small battlegroup with fuel and ammo for several days. However, restocking it can be very difficult because it has so much space, and logistics isnt its primary role.Although it has no vivible thrusters on the front, the reversible main thrusters are capable of replacing it.
