La'atot Class Deep Space Weapon Platform
A large railgun of the Sulethis Republic intended to fire at an enemy ship in a star system up to about 20 ly away.
The La'atot is small in comparison to other faction deep space railguns, but is less powerful, still expensive and still slow and vulnerable to short range battles. It is just 500 m in length and although it can be used in larger numbers than other deep space railguns, they remain highly expensive.
The la'atot is designed to be used against smaller ships than other deep space railguns as well. It can cripple anything down to a cruiser reliably and as such the railgun shell itself can change its trajectory similar to a smart munition shell as its onboard FTL drive is capable of generating a corrective virtual force on the shell.
Also it cannot be used as a regular starship armament even as a spinal weapon because of the extremely powerful magnetic field that it uses to propel the round. This would act similar to an electromagnetic pulse and would destroy most electronic equipment on any ship it is mounted on.
