Hrathat - Class Strikecraft Carrier
A small spacecraft carrier of the Anagon Technocracy.
The ship, like most Anagon starships, is only a few centimeters in length, and the strike craft it uses are about 1 mm long each, on average, but due to the immense density of neutron QCD matter, are still about as heavy as strikecraft of other factions. They exploit the extremely small radar cross section of the strike craft, often smaller than most space objects such as asteroids, in order to deliver payloads at shorter ranges before being detected. This doctrine can be difficult to fight against, and HEGDW munitions would likely need to be used against them, as well as an excellently tuned radar. The strike craft have very weak armour that is designed to protect itself and its crew member from background radiation and space dust, and will not stand up to punishment.
The ship itself has strong armour however, and much slower speed. It is intended to be deployed well outside enemy radar ranges, and the armour is to protect it from any counter-strikecraft that have been launched by the enemy in response to its own fighter attack. The armour makes it quite slow however, so the Hrathat would need to respond quickly (proabbly reposition to a location far away) to incomming threats.
These ships are also often used as propaganda due to being so difficult to counter. Only the Anagon species can build and crew such a ship.
It has a reputation for being reliable and effective as long as they are properly used. Some commanders try to exploit the low radar cross section of the carrier itself and being it into shorter ranges to deliver faster strikes. These ships are usually destroyed by enemy HEGDW warheads that are almost always kept in stock in case of Anagon surprise attacks. When used as intended, however, they have been known to perform miracles and make their cost in a single battle. The anagons are very careful to teach their starship captains and commanders this intended way to use this carrier, but that does not prevent incidents happening sometimes.
Like many anagon ships, the Hrathat - class comes with the caveat that the anagons specialise in armour piercing weapons. Although an anagon weapon will likely penetrate almost the entire length of a target ship, it deals all of this damage in a very tight spot. This will only cause minor damage to a target unless used in massive quantity or if the shots are extremely well placed.
