Hacking - SR

While the security measures of Sentient Robots are strong, they are not invincible. Nothing is completely unhackable, after all. When a Sentient Robot is hacked, its soul is at risk of death. Far more likely though, is that it is only modified.  Only particularly cruel and well equipped criminals will attempt this as some people might compare them to the Enion-pox or Reanimation Fungus. Criminals often don't (but sometimes do) have the equipment necessary for hacking such powerful security measures.

Symptoms

Behavior. By making the robot walk 'casually', the main symptom can be almost eliminated. This doesn't work if it tries to perform a bad enough crime. With enough time and hacking skill, the Federation can trace the signal back to its source. But they often have to run a full system scan to figure out if someone has been hacked. Or perhaps signal delays. While QEC is a form of instant communication, human error of the hacker himself can cause delays in movements or just straight clumsiness.

Treatment

Before anything can be done, the Federation first needs to know about it. Hacked robots can be reported by calling the emergency number. They will scan for robots in that area, and then scan their systems. Hopefully the connection can be terminated soon.

Cultural Reception

Most people don't suspect any robot to be hacked as it is a rare condition. When it does become apparent that someone nearby has been hacked, though, most organics will attempt to flee or EMP it. Robots are stronger than flesh. EMP is likely to destroy the robots processors, though, kiling it for real. It is far better to attempt to immobiilze one by shooting it in the legs and arms. Other Sentient Robots and @yunkamight try to attack it in unarmed combat, aiming to immobilize it. They feel great empathy for those who have been hacked.
