Cybrex

The race that originally built the HEX Mainframe. This led to them being asimlated, but are not extinct. They still live under the HM.
Cybrex, although small, are quite smart. They engineered many complex AIs before they built the hm, though none were quite like the HM. Their culture wanted a world where AIs and biological beings could rule together. They would end up achieving this, to an extent, though this is not quite what they had in mind.
Their muscles originally were not as powerful or as fast acting as most species, but the hm modified their bodies to be stronger and faster.

Biological Traits

The cybrex body has been largely optimised by the HM. This enables them to regenerate much faster than any other species while forming their skin out of a highly malleable but strong material making it difficult to penetrate.

Genetics and Reproduction

Before they were assimilated, they could reproduce naturally. They were mammalian and had 2 sexes. The HM made many significant changes to their bodies, turning them into more of a biomechanical species than cybernetic. Due to their new biomechanical nature tough, they are unable to reproduce naturally and must be vat grown. This helps to make them entirely dependant on the AI that grows them.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Their digestive system was removed to make room for more computers, shield generators, self repair nanobot systems, power cores and similar. Instead, they gain energy from electricity and the nanobots keep the body intact, preventing decay.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Cybrex have an organ that is capable of detecting powerful magnetic fields due to having evolved on a world with a strong field. It helps them navigate. They eventually realised though, that this also made space travel difficult as the lack of magnetism caused sensory defict, so the HM upgraded the organ with one that can both produce and detect these fields. To cure any sensory defict, a cybrex can create and detect his own field which takes energy out of the body but solves the problem.
