'Xralkarax' light ATV

The Xralkarax is one of the prime ATVs used by the Xalarin. Although it is smaller than those of other factions with similar roles, it is actually heavier, as the XC makes use of PEVMs to increase its density substantially.

Powered by a number of very small yet advanced fusion reactors, all 'stacked' on top of each other, it can produce a tremendous amount of power for itself and keep itself operational for many years. Its compact size makes it harder to hit, which is compounded with its improved mobility as its density means it has less rotational inertia while in space. On ground, this advantage is somewhat reduced as rotational inertia is no longer the primary variable restricting turning rate.

Its compact nature does lead to the Xralkarax being unable to carry as much armament as other ATVs with similar roles however. This means that they must make use of their mobility to cause damage, hopefully retreat more effectively and cause its damage over time via attrition. 

The HF's Pion is about 10 m long, in comparison to the Xralkarax being about 7m long.

The primary enemy of the Xralkarax, when they are fighting the HF, are large photon cannon emplacements. It is impossible to dodge a photon cannon, and they can carry a hefty punch, especially against an extremely compact vehicle like the Xralkarax. The ATV also comes with an ewar package to help reduce this weakness to light or particle based weapons which travel at or near the speed of light. The ewar is msotly intended to dislodge or eliminate enemy locks on a battlegroup of Xralkarax ATVs. Used in sufficiently large numbers, these can cause heavy interference even to HF machines.

They have been deployed in defence against factions like the GAE and CD which are close to them, and in offensive campaigns against most large intergalactic factions. They have attacked the KC, HF, SR, CD, TN and GAE. The HM are too far away to realistically threaten the XC. Many XC assets have upgrade packages available which are equipped depending on mission and enemy faction. The XC requires different doctrines against the HF, SR, CD, for example. These upgrade packages are available in large amounts in the XC military.
