Mindwipe, Remote

This is the ability to edit or remove a subjects memories, but without needing to touch the subject.
The psychic must first make and maintain contact with the subject using Telereceive, and get past the subject's defenses, if any. Once contact is established, the psychic can do the following:

• delete memories (temporary or permanent, many or one in quantity and/or time)
• replace a memory with a false memory
• plant a compulsion

Unlike the basic Mind Wipe, which requires physical contact with the subject, a complete wipe is not possible. Every memory that is tampered with uses up psionic energy exponentially. In addition, because this power also requires using Telereceive at the same time, this is extremely taxing to the psychic, and even the most skilled users would rather not use this power as a method.

Note: In the scientific literature, this power is written as "Remote Mindwipe" (where "Mindwipe" is one word) as opposed to the related power, Mind Wipe. The field of Psionic Research is highly disorganized, partially due to its status as a pseudo-science among the rest of the scientific community, partially due to the number of undisciplined quacks and ufologists attempting to prove their latest conspiracy theory, and partially due to infighting among those few researchers who do follow a scientific method.
