Headquarters of the Fellowship of the Cerulean Flower, an Izsallian religious order dedicated to teaching medicine.
Origins
The Fellowship of the Cerulean Flower was founded by Cynthia Needleleaf, a Favored Soul of Izsallyia, who took the religious name Petal after she founded the group. Mother Petal realized that non magical medical practices had always supplemented the healing sphere, due to priests being a very small percentage of the population, plus not all priests being skilled in healing. Petal desired to form a group that worked with these non magical healers, gathering their collective knowledge and passing the knowledge onto others. The religious leaders of the Kingdom of Waters Effluent rejected her proposal, but after her very public Favoring by Izsallya they reconsidered.
Petal and her initial followers traveled through the kingdom and beyond, talking with healers and sharing what they had learned previously. Petal eventually realized that if the fellowship was going to ever be more than individuals separately collecting and dispersing information, it would need a central hub to store accumulated knowledge efferently prepare members to teach the practice of medicine to others. Petal returned to her family residence and established it as the headquarters for the fellowship and model for future chapters that would be established in other nations.
Description
Located in the eastern part of the Kingdom of Waters Effluent, the House of Petal has grown beyond the original residence into a sizable compound. The campus is organized with the public spaces int he front with the more private areas in the back.
Front and center is a Aspectionalist temple, whose clergy are almost always members of Izsallyia's lodge. To one side of the temple is a large complex for the treating of the sick and injured, providing a service to those in need and a practical area to practice techniques and treatments. On the other side of the temple is the library full of tomes representing the Cerulean Flower's collected medical knowledge. At the attached scriptorium members can obtain copies of works to take with them on their travels.
Behind these areas are the dormitories for novice fellowship students, their teachers, as well as accomodations for visiting members. There are also classrooms and herbalist preparation spaces. Surround these rearward areas is an extensive herb and vegetable garden, containing every medicine plant known to the fellowship that can grow in western Snassarian. The house's storerooms are regularly supplied with dried plants from chapter houses in other climates, so the House of Petal has one of, if not the best stock of medicinal plants in Therrmordia.
Between the public and private areas of the compound is a small flower garden containing Mother Petal's tomb. While the edge of the garden has need beds, the central area around the tomb is a messy mass of blue flowers.
