Imraziu and the League Tonturaseer

Where is the League Tonturaseer?

Occupying over half of the western coast of the Great Lake Smaril, the League Tonturaseer is a series of towns developing one great theome of coastal grasslands in Kelkaith. It is the northernmost theome of the region cluster whose jewel is Xanasal.

Notably, the theome's name is formally the singular Tonturaseer, but in common parlance due to it being a series of towns with individual names, it is called 'The League Tonturaseer' in most documents. This is also the name of the local governing confederation.

How is Tonturaseer classified?

Benevolent. It's noted in some files that Imraziu has achieved an unusual mix of low fate pressures and high order, with the towns of the League being quite diversely cosmopolitan.

Necromancers are advised against visits here, as Imraziu is strongly anti-necromantic, seeing necromantic influences as disruptive to the delicate balance she has built up. She's very proud of creating a benevolent urban theome without much fate pressure and sees every way she's used fate as a strictly necessary thing that should not be disrupted by the unpredictability of necromantic influences. She resents the necromantic-friendly haven of Etzayangale two theomes south of Tonturaseer.

What kind of economy and population does the League Tonturaseer have?

There are a wide variety of light industries throughout the towns of Tonturaseer. Raw material extraction is left to other theomes, and instead trade connections across the Great Lake Smaril (and abroad) are used to import materials for processing. Profits are occasionally meagre due to the difficulties in logistics and market-making across long distances, but Imraziu is dedicated to taking on the challenges of a diversified industrial economy on Theoma. (That said, she doesn't manage the theome's economy directly, but rather the government is made of elected local councils distinct to each city).

There are also farms on the fertile grasslands, dominated by Vrash who can break up the heavy soil and pull heavy iron plows. The land here is among the most northern of fertile grasslands anywhere on Theoma! As food prices are often high in Kelkaith, the food grown here is a very valuable export further inland, joining flows of food that come in from overseas.

What is Imraziu like?

Imraziu incarnates as a peculiar wingless dragon with cloven hooves and helical horns, being one of a particular 'kind' of land god who favors this unusual draconic form not found among the lesser divinities. She does not govern the League Tonturaseer, but dwells within it in a large house as a particularly high profile citizen of its most central polity, from there entertaining visitors often from the government, who do after all understand that Imraziu is the mistress of such things as the weather and the fertility of the fields. The weather tends to be quite fine if a bit cold, and at that it is well within the tolerance of the particular crops grown at this latitude... save perhaps for the annual grassfire season, which Imraziu insists is a normal part of maintaining the local ecology which she will implement regularly.

Would-be visitors to her house are occasionally turned back by Imraziu refusing on the grounds that she is currently retuning the weave of Fate in the theome. Geomancers praise the gentle subtlety of the Fateweaving in the League Tonturaseer; Imraziu says she works harder to produce fewer-but-finer geomantic manipulations than many other land gods.

What is the Fate Beacon that Imraziu maintains over Tonturaseer?

One of the great focuses of the local Fateweaving is the Specialist Beacon in the League, which gathers a kind of psychic harvest from the myriad industries of the theome and strengthens the theome's competitors by broadcasting a helpful influence to others who strive to work in advanced trades. This makes the work easier and yet harder, for it makes people who strive to master their trade learn more and yet face stiffer competition.

A beneficial effect of the Specialist Beacon is that it bolsters the construction and deployment of Skill Archives within Tonturaseer. This is one of the territory where constructing "skilltaker" circlets is unusually easy, so that people may collaborate in an unusual way on mastering skills. The presence of skill archives on the local markets goes some way to ameliorating complaints that the Specialist Beacon makes people in distant theomes nearer to their raw materials too good at competing with the artisans of the League Tonturaseer.
