Nina Balazs (Nee-NUH Buh-LAWSH)

Nina Balazs is the current Solomonar from Votha. Nina is a practioner of Abjuration Magic, Dark Magic, and Illusion Magic. Her strongest (and preferred) magic is Illusion Magic.

Personal history

Nina was born on 2 Ethera 4574 in Faulkenberg, Votha. The middle of three daughters, Nina enjoyed a middle-class upbringing directly in Votha's capital. Nina's aptitude with magic was apparent early on; at 2 years old, Nina could already use Summoning Magic for her toys.
Starting at age 5, Nina attended the local magician school, although it was clear early on that she was destined for something bigger than her local magician schools. At age 11, she was tested by the Scholomance and was subsequently offered a place as Votha's new Solomonar. Nina was pleased and accepted immediately.
Nina's magical powers are extraordinarily strong, and like Kazza Hallow, she vacilitates between pride in that aspect and fear of her own power.

Sexuality

Nina is heterosexual. Although she harbors feelings for Kazza Hallow, she doesn't expect them to be reciprocated and keeps them to herself.

Education

Nina started attending the local magician school at age 5 and quickly rose to the top of not only her class, but the entire school by age 10. Nina's proficiency with magic has always been easy, and so she rarely has to put in much work to keep her top grades.
Once Nina started attending the Scholomance, she quickly realized she was no longer the most powerful at the school. Instead of feeling jealous, Nina immediately figured she should utilize the talent around her and began to learn from her fellow Solomonars. Because of this, Nina's magic has just continued to get stronger while she's attended the Scholomance, and the Immortalis Solomonari expect big things from Nina Balazs.

Employment

Although the current Solomonari have not graduated, all of them accept work from the Immortalis Solomonari. Every Solomonar is paid a wage for their work, and they can turn down an assignment, although that's rare, as each Solomonar is hand-picked for the assignment and so the assignment carries with it a big honor.
Eventually, Nina will hopefully go on to open her own magical business or perhaps stay on as an Immortal, if chosen.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Nina's entire educational journey has been full of achievements. At her local magician school, Nina was always the top of her class and often the top of her school, beating out magicians that were several years older than her. Nina is not used to feeling substandard at magic and quickly gets annoyed with herself if she can't handle the magic she's learning.
Nina considers being chosen as Votha's current Solomonar as the biggest accomplishment she'll ever have in her life.

Intellectual Characteristics

Nina is incredibly intelligent, although doesn't love to read as much as her friend Kazza Hallow. Nina prefers to learn by doing, so it's not uncommon to come across Nina practicing a huge spell in the Ancient Circle of the Solomonari before even reading too much about it.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Nina considers all of the Solomonari friends, although she considers herself closest to Kazza Hallow, followed by Aneeshka Vilakazi. Like the other Solomonari, Nina's relationship with Sarai Amira is tenuous at best, but their respect for each other is mutual.

Family Ties

Nina is incredibly close to her family; she travels often to Faulkenberg to visit them. Nina's family includes her parents, Ilya and Alina, as well as two sisters, Natalia and Lara. Nina often brings Kazza home with her as well, and he is welcomed by her family with open arms.

Religious Views

Nina is Voetian, but not a particularly devout follower. Nina is interested in Ravka and often accompanies Kazza on his Ravkan rituals.

Social Aptitude

Nina is a friendly person, but her impatience and utter determination/ambition sometimes earns her a reputation as being difficult. However, most would consider Nina a friend, and her very close friends are absolutely loyal to her (and vice versa).
