The Shrine of Dalti
Among the icy sands of the Hyalus Wastes lies a shrine to an Orcish artist of the second era: Dalti, the Great Blood Artist. Fascinated by the beauty of Artukos' creation, Dalti wished not only to reveal the beauty of the Feywild and the Material Plane, but to do it with the very lifeblood of the world (as defined by Orcish beliefs): blood. As a dedication to his legacy in the Feywild, his colleagues constructed a shrine as homage to him next to one of the last oases in the Hyalus Wastes. This location is of special importance because the image of the sun setting on the landscape of the wastes represents one of Dalti's most prominent works.
Purpose / Function
Although this shrine does not house Dalti's body, it acts as a place to represent Dalti's legacy and life. It contains depictions of his works, his life, and his inspirations. For this reason, all murals that are painted within the shrine are painted as homage or mimicry of Dalti's signature style of blood art, full of many streaking and contrasting shades of red.
Alterations
As some of Dalti's fellow artists met their deaths as well, a few were buried here "alongside" Dalti, even though Dalti was never buried here in the first place. For this purpose, a small tomb was constructed beneath the base ground level interior of the Shrine of Dalti.
Architecture
The shrine is constructed from sandstone and gilded with gold and bronze. However, due to the age of the structure, its luster and stability have waned somewhat over the ages. The interior of the shrine has many murals depicting Dalti and his work painted onto the walls, presumably by his fellow artists and colleagues. In order to get deeper into the shrine, one must spill blood onto the altar at the center of the main room.
