The Gamemakers

A Hive-mind of Hunters

General Info

Across all of Gearva, there are few creatures more terrifying and more peculiar than the dreaded Gamemakers. Contrary to their trivial-sounding name, Gamemakers are 16 beings connected as a hive-mind. Moving as one, they surround their chosen prey and trick its mind into playing right into their hands.

The 16 Beings of a Gamemaker's Hivemind

8 of the 16 are mimics, simple pawns that can take the illusory form of a being for a short time. 2 of the remaining 8 are straightforward brutes, hulking ogre-like creatures that smash anything in their sight. The next 2 beings are Loyal warriors with nontraditional personality and strategy. These two "knights" usually attempt to get friendly with their prey much like the 8 mimics, but the "knights" are much more subtle in their endeavors. The next two of the remaining 4 are wise strategists that will attempt to coordinate the attacks and the attempts of pieces lower than it. The last two beings are the heart of the hive mind, one being the protector and the other being the source of the Gamemaker's power. The protector is extremely powerful, and will almost never leave the side of the "king". none know how the Gamemakers were first created, but it is believed that there are only three Gamemakers in existence. It also believed that these three Gamemakers attempt to stay as far away from the other two of their kind as they can.

Location

It is believed that one of the Gamemakers is in the Material Plane, and yet another is in the Intraversal Wraith Globe, but the whereabouts of the third Gamemaker is unknown. It is also unknown how the Gamemakers select prey to hunt, but they will not stop until the mind has devoured it whole.
