Jenna is the mother of Tess Bowden and Finn Bowden. She's also the mother of Isabel (Izzy) Bowden (now deceased), all by different fathers.
Born and raised in Cornwall, Jenna comes from a long line of proud Cornish women. Her father was a Romany man—a Traveller, a Gypsy. She grew up with her mother in a fishing village on the wild north coast of Cornwall. She met her father a few times whenever he was staying nearby. He sent her mother money regularly, but he never settled down with them.
When she was eighteen, Jenna fell in love with a charismatic young tearaway, a member of a biker gang, running away with him despite her mother’s warnings. They shared a few wild weeks out on the road, ending up in Whitby, where Jenna’s lover abandoned her, claiming he was going out for supplies and never returning. Jenna discovered she was pregnant. Destitute, but too proud to go home, she found work as a waitress in Whitby and settled there.
Now, she is the single mum of three children, all by different fathers, and is currently pregnant with her fourth child. Finn’s dad was the biker boy. Tess’s dad remains a mystery that Jenna seems reluctant to talk about, much to Tess's frustration. Izzy’s dad was a local carpenter who was due to marry Jenna, but then got cold feet and left her for another woman. Tess reckons he was scared off by the thought of dealing with her and Finn.
Jenna is tall, beautiful, captivating, and still wild at heart. She fiercely loves her children and works several jobs to provide for them, cleaning in the local hospital and a nursing home, and bartending two or three nights a week. Her passion is sculpture, mainly ceramics, and she spends any spare time she has in a makeshift studio, which is currently in the spare bedroom since Finn moved out.
She is gifted with the Sight, as are all Bowden women, and has always maintained the blood of Merlin flows in Bowden veins. Merlin’s blood and Romany blood – a double whammy. Her belief in magic is unwavering and a source of contention between her and her science-nerd daughter.
Tess sees her mum as flaky and foolish in love. A kinder way to look at it might be that Jenna has a strong desire to love and to be loved. She’s dedicated her life to bringing up her children, but longs for romance. She can be rash and impulsive but will always be there for her kids.

History
Met eighteen years ago when Geyan came through a portal from Talmain, in pursuit of his enemy, Morgana le Fay. He remained in England for some months, unable to return to Talmain because he could not form a portal home. He met and fell in love with Jenna Bowden and she fell pregnant with Tess. When he eventually found a way back to Talmain, he risked his life to return to complete his mission to find the new Chulain, fully intending to return to England for Jenna and the baby. He never made it back.
