Horned Horse

Unicorns are famous as mythical horned horses, who ride into the world with the gods on their backs.
They are a most rare sight, and not much as known about them, and what little is known is mixed with rumor, superstition, and conjecture.

Appearance

Unicorns look very much like regular horses, although of quite a large variety, not unlike those horses of Trianmye, although their fur is nearly always pearly white. More strikingly, however, is their long horn sticking from their forehead. These horns are straight, although they have spiraled groves running along their length.
They exist in long and shorthaired variants, with the long-haired ones often having wavy hair, that seemingly always shines, and never needs to be combed.

Rarity

Unicorns are rare tho, and they don't seem to live in any specific region, and one can live in any region their whole life without seeing so much as a trace of a unicorn, just for one to show up one day. It might stick around for some time, but they never stay, they always move on again after some time.

Magic

Unicorns are believed to possess powerful magic, which resides specifically in their blood and horns.
Some believe that drinking the blood of a unicorn can keep someone from death, even if their whole body has been destroyed, by regenerating them, although everyone agrees that there are consequences to this, even if no one knows what those consequences are.

The horn of a unicorn is known to be a magically charged object, and any scholar would give a good penny to have one to study, however, unicorn horns are extraordinarily rare, and therefore, extraordinarily expensive.
They are known to be excellent conduits for mana, although they make poor storage devices, the core of unicorn horns are the key component of mana-focusing devices.

Poaching

While the general public reveres Unicorns as divine beings, and agree that they shouldn't be harmed, this hasn't stopped people from hunting them. This is purely for financial reasons.every part of a unicorn is worth a fortune, and therefore, wherever a unicorn is spotted, there will be poachers attracted to it.

The Order of the Unicorn

There are those noble knights who believe that all unicorns must be protected, and if their zeal proves strong enough, they might join the order of the unicorn, a union of knights dedicated to the protection of these elegant creatures.
Whenever a unicorn is spotted, they make haste to their location and protect them from poachers.
they can't always get there on time tho, and unicorns are still occasionally killed.
