Society
Their society is divided into many communities, each led by a council of elders. who make decisions and pass judgment on community members, these communities are often not that big, and they exist within the provinces, led by a type of governors, which answer to the king.
The governors raise taxes for the king, but the king conscripts men into the army himself, he sends his recruitment officers around the country to collect capable men and women to fight for him, all individuals are expected to serve in the army for at least five years, a service for which they are compensated handsomely.
Politics
The king is the supreme leader of the nation, but many of his people are spread out and autonomous, the draft is how he exerts influence on them. This is also the reason why there are many wars fought against Baskythenia and Felmeria, even if territorial expansion isn't the goal.
The king receives most of his money from the governors, who levy taxes, however, most of these axes come from the mines and manufacturing sectors, which is not a very large part of the actual Nalsai'ia economy.
Most of it is in herding, and trading of meat and pelts.
In the cities, there are manufacturers, who make more processed things, from wood and leather, but also metal, as the mountains are rich and full of many precious metals.
Provinces
The way the provinces are shaped reflects how most people there live, in the more forested regions, most people live on the river, and in cities, so the boundaries are in forests, while in the central plain, most people live as herders and hunters, and the river acts are a barrier, and therefore the borders are drawn there. Many settlements are still on the river tho, but in the plains, these settlements are quite small, and often, they act as border towns, as they are the place where there is a bridge, without which, crossing the river becomes quite difficult, with all the crocodiles, and other dangerous beasts that live in it.
