Session 24 - The Forest Guardian & Returning to Tergaron

The Forest Guardian is a creature of the fey, and the group takes a diplomatic stance with it. A conversation is had, and the Guardian grants visions to each in the party. It seems something is happening to nearby towns, and the Guardian warns the party. A single branch of the Copper-leaved tree is given over to cure the disease above.

The group quickly head out of the Temple and back to Oakfield. Here, they camp for the night in one of the abandoned houses. But they are disturbed in the middle of the night - a lone Zombie intrudes and is quickly put down. Zan recognises the person: a man from the Church in Tergaron!

The next day is an early start, as the group are anxious of what has happened in Tergaron. When they reach the town, they find a site of chaos. Bodies line the street, doors and windows are smashed, and there is not a soul around. Zan checks for his Mother at his home, but there are no signs. Gildar finds more Cultist Symbols in some neighbouring houses. The group first heads to the church, where the scenes are both gruesome and disturbing.

Seeking any survivors, the party heads to the well-defended Sanctuary of Rejuvenation - the Monastery that exists within Tergaron. There are survivors within, including the Guard Sergeant Manfred Arley and Zan's mother, Evalia. They explained that all those recently deceased with the Black Smile rose again and turned in to Zombies a few nights ago, and that they suspect one of the Priests of the Church to have let the Zombies in!
