Session 55 - Escaping the Temple

Midnight passes. With news the Pirates are on the way, the group takes off through the Temple. On the way, mighty Kraken tentacles burst forth from waters, hindering progress but not drastically. It seems the creature is trying to tear the Temple down! Passing through steam vents and moving platforms, the group reach the Teleportation Circle. Jaxxon sets to work trying to decipher the last of the spell.

A defence is set up, and the Pirates attack - led by Captain Blackheart himself. Buying time for Jaxxon to finish the spell, the group trades blows with the Pirates. Zan is threatened with news about his father, who is still captured aboard the ship.

Jaxxon activates the Teleportation Circle, not knowing where it leads to. In a last-ditch effort, Gildar sacrifices some Magical Items to make an Arcane Bomb, setting it off as the group escapes. The last thing they hear is the sound of rushing water and Blackheart's rage.

Darkness greats the group on the other side. Finding themselves underground in a strange room, the takea a rest. During this, Brenlazar takes time to attune to his magical axe - and starts to feel a strange feeling.

The next day, they begin exploring, only to find themselves in some sort of crypt. Soon enough, a patrol of Knights, along with a Wizard, descends on the party to arrest them. Unfortunately, Bren cannot let go of his axe, and after taking a hit, goes in to a berserk rage, swinging at anyone near him.

The group surrenders, Bren is bought down, and they are escorted out of the Crypt; their weapons are left behind, including Bren's new axe. Jaxxon is treated poorly by the Knights, who seem to take a dislike of Greenskins. They discover they are in The Ivory Palace - the castle of the Royalty of Arden, and the seat of the King within the city of Ardenholt.

Locked in some cells, the group awaits its fate. Shortly after, a n individual arrives, and introduces himself as Lord Ohram Crow - brother of Lady Gabrielle Crow.
