Ttsaf Ttsar (tt͡sɐf tt͡sɐɾ / TSAF TSAR)

Ttsaf Ttsar was an ancient holy city located within the Tsounya Kingdom. It is famous for its temple, which was the largest and most prestigious in the Southern Lands and served as a seat of religious authority as well as a place of worship, and for Nyanu Lluw, the sacred tree which the Temple was built around. The Siege of Ttsaf Ttsar, in which the defense of the city was seen as an act of divine intervention in respones to the people's faith, further cemented Ttsaf Ttsar's status as a holy site.

Defences

Ttsaf Ttsar was surrounded by stone walls. During the Siege of Ttsaf Ttsar, the Feogh army attempted for eight days to get into the city, without success. (The siege allegedly ended when warrior angels descended from Heaven and killed the attacking soldiers.)

Districts

The most notable district of Ttsaf Ttsar is its temple precinct, which encompasses the Temple of the Four Worlds as well as a library, school, monastery, marketplace, and more.

History

Ttsaf Ttsar was originally an independent city-state, though little is known of its early history. The earliest written records are written by Tsounya scribes, detailing the discovery of a large cypress tree identified with Nyanu Lluw (a cypress serving as the cornerstone of the four realms of existence in Tsounya mythology) in Ttsaf Ttsar and the subsequent capture of the city. According to record, Ttsaf Ttsar was a heathen city; in order to reclaim the holy land, King Ru Chyk had the city captured, all traces of heathen practices purged, and a temple built dedicated to Nyanu Lluw, the Divine, and all of creation.   The temple drew the attention of adherents of (religion I'll name later), who would make pilgrimages there, but also of the less righteous. Notably, it drew the attention of Feogh high chief Augháo, who attacked Ttsaf Ttsar in spite of its fortifications during her invasion of the Southern Lands, as she had heard legends of great treasures within the temple, in particular its many idols. She besieged the city for eight days; on the eighth day (according to Tsounya legend), angels descended from Heaven and decimated her forces. This event further reinforced Ttsaf Ttsar's status as a holy city.

Points of interest

The main point of interest in Ttsaf Ttsar was its temple and the sacred tree in its inner courtyard. The temple doubled as a house of worship and a seat of religious authority. It housed many sacred objects, including various idols, making it a destination for both pilgrims and plunderers.

Tourism

Ttsaf Ttsar attracted many religious pilgrims, due to its holy status and its temple.
