Ashal
Ashal is the god of the dead and the Underworld, over which he rules. He selects those who have sinned during their life, they are placed under his rule and serve him and his wife for eternity.
Divine Domains
Ashal role has not changed after the cataclysm. He watches men's behaviour during their life and records the names of those who sin too often, or too much, on the tables of judgement. This condemns them to go to the Underworld after they die. Because of this, those who have sinned pray to Ashal for forgiveness.
Artifacts
Ashal carries the commanding sceptre in his right hand and the tables of judgement in his left. The tables hold the names of all those who will go in the Underworld when they die. The sceptre acts as a mace and slays any mortal creature it touches. The victim is then immediately transformed in an undead, under the command of Ashal.
When fighting, we uses a shield made of black stone which radiates a terror aura which paralyses the god's enemies.

Divine Symbols & Sigils
Ashal's holy symbol is a round black medallion similar to his shield.
Tenets of Faith
The temples of Ashal are mostly visited by those who ask forgiveness from the God because they have transgressed the divine laws. After hearing the supplicant's confession, the priests or priestesses would impose a penance, usually with some kind of reparations if a person had been wronged and always with a donation to the temple.
Due to the afflux of riches coming from believers who wanted to avoid punishment, Ashal's temples were by far the wealthiest and also served as banks. They would lend money with the guarantee that the receiver would make every effort to pay back his debt to escape the God's anger.
