Linn Etenhil

Linn Etenhil is the leading body of Galinstrann. It's composed of three individuals, and is responsible for all political and legal decision making in the country. The identity of all individuals is a secret to everyone except their speaker, the Taorahil: this is to protect them from assassinations and blackmailing, among many other troubles.

Choosing a Member

Should an individual either retire or pass away, a new individual is chosen to replace them post haste. The person must be of Galinstrann origin, and most often the chosen person is an elf; in some cases, a fey can be selected, as well, but this is highly uncommon.
The replacement is chosen by the remaining Linn Etenhil, along with Taorahil, and is picked from among individuals who can take on a leadership role, keep to secrecy of their station and the other members, and has experience on the role they're chosen for. Sometimes, the previous individual can make recommendations and participate in the selection process, but they are not required to do so. Taorahil approches the chosen individual only after an extensive background check and observation period, and should the person agree, they will be officiated within one month.

Maimetirighil

Maimetirighil is the expert at commerce, and generally comes from a merchant background. They are responsible for the coffers and physical and montetary necessities of the country, and may, with the approval of the rest of the council, make changes to taxes, as well as decide where the money should be spent at given times. They often are the most familiar with the needs of the people as their role is the most visible in their every-day lives, and Maimetirighil is the one most likely praised for the success of the council - as well as the one to receive their disapproval if people feel like they have fallen on hard times.

Magíl

Magíl is the role given for one with considerable military experience. They have often served as a pages and then squires before entering service, eventually taking a leading role and making critical decisions as to how to use the forces available.
They are responsible for the safety of the country from threats within and without. Along with military forces, they are also the head of information gathering.

Olúivhil

Olúivhil often comes from the church, because despite the role being that of a historian, history and religion are tightly intertwined in Galinstrann due to their faith being based on historic events and individuals.
They have an extensive understanding of local and global history and how different events may affect the outcome of a situation. Often, they are expected to predict the best way to move forward in a given situation based on this knowledge.
