University of Arkhos

The University of Arkhos is located in the eastern quarter of Arkhos, which has come to be known as the University Quarter as a result. The University is the second-largest educational institution in the New Arkhosian Empire, and is attended by students from across the Empire and the wider world.

Purpose / Function

The University teaches subjects both mundane and magical, although in its teaching of the magical arts it is less prestigious than the Spire of Bael Turath. It has three schools, the School of Mathematics and Sciences, the School of History and Law, and the School of Philosophy. Each School is largely independent from the others, having its own responsibility for teaching, research, and procurement of funding and materials.

Architecture

The building is constructed in the Refounding style, with traditional Arkhosi materials such as granite and limestone eschewed in favour of marble, imported from the Murqhin Sadheri. Each school has several courtyards and gardens, which are frequented by students and professors wishing to discuss their studies.
