Lady Marcia of Warrick (Mar-SEE-uh)
Lady (courtesy title, not official) Marcia N/A (Her family is Frankish and the Franks didn't use surnames)
The daughter of Sir Gerard and Lady Evelyn and the younger sister of Portia.
Six Word Description: Smart, Beautiful, Charming, And Knows It
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Good condition, she is reasonably fit for her age and size.
Facial Features
Beautiful complexion and perfect features, Centurions don't wear make-up but she genuinely doesn't need any.
Apparel & Accessories
She takes good care of her clothing and makes sure that it looks good. She has learned to sew and has added a little bit of decorative embroidery to her clothing so that is is not as plain as is typical of most Centurion clothing. She adds embroidery to the clothing of others (even servants) and views this as a gift of service to them so her parents allow the embroidery on her own clothing to slide so long as it is not excessive. She makes her own clothing and makes sure that it fits her form well while still being tasteful.
Specialized Equipment
Marcia has not started her handmaiden training yet so she has only a dagger for her specialized equipment. After she chooses to become an artisan (a Natural Philosopher) she is given a work apron (to wear while conducting experiments), notebooks, quills, and ink. She is working with Dr. Sheraton and is experimenting with lenses.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Marcia has grown up in Castle Warrick and has never faced any serious challenge or trauma prior to 946 A.D. (the setting for The Dragon's Prophecy). Centurions believe in living simple lives so her lifestyle has not been "luxurious" by the standards of most European nobles but it has been comfortable and safe and certainly better than the standards enjoyed by the majority of people living in central Europe.
She is the opposite of her older sister Portia in many ways and delights in showing her up. She is beautiful, charming, and very capable in different social settings.
Education
Marcia is only 12 (in 946 A.D.) but takes her studies seriously. She chooses to walk the path of the natural philosopher (medieval scientist) and apprentices under Dr. Sheraton. She proves to be very adept with mathematics, logic, and languages.
Employment
She is apprenticed to Dr. Sheraton, Castle Warrick's natural philosopher. Prior to her apprenticeship she helped in the castle's kitchen and worked with the castle's seamstresses (Centurions believe that service to others is the highest calling and even the daughters of the Count of Carintha are expected to work).
Accomplishments & Achievements
She is an accomplished seamstress, a decent rider, a burgeoning linguist, and an apprentice natural philosopher.
Mental Trauma
No serious mental traumas but she is a bit too competitive with her sister.
Intellectual Characteristics
She is intellectually strong across the board. She is an ENTJ (The Commander) and tends to be logic-driven and calculating when dealing with other people.
Morality & Philosophy
Her morality is a bit more flexible than her sister's. Overall she sticks to the rules, though she will occasionally bend them or interpret them in an overly literal way in order to get what she wants. She tries to do what is best for people, however, which keeps her from straying too far from the righteous path.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Marcia believes in the Centurion ideals but envisions herself as a protector in the intellectual sphere rather than the military one. She wants to learn everything and is fixated on knowledge and discovering new things. She knows this puts her on a different path from the military one that her parents and sister went down. She believes (incorrectly) that this makes her sister the "favored child" and, consequently, she is very competitive with her sister.
Mature for her age, she often comes across as being five or six years older than she actually is.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
She is socially savvy and intellectually brilliant. Her intellectual pride can sometimes lead her into trouble.
Likes & Dislikes
She loves to explore ideas and discover new things.
Virtues & Personality perks
She is gracious and charming when she needs to be. She is hard-working and generous with her own time and money though prone to stinginess with the castle's resources.
Vices & Personality flaws
She can be intellectually arrogant which occasionally causes problems with her social interactions with others. She can be dismissive when she is caught up in her research. She can be smirky and sarcastic when someone says or does something that she considers funny or stupid.
Personality Quirks
She likes to carry a journal and will, at random times, stop and jot down some thought that just occurred to her or an observation she has just made.
Hygiene
Excellent, she always looks and smells fabulous.
