Orrery of the Wanderer
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Incomprehensibly complicated clockwork, arcane circuitry, and photonic pathways inside the base drive a mechanical and illusory simulacrum of the entire multiverse. The Orrery does not function properly without the reinstallation of seven key components, which were intentionally removed from the device and scattered across the multiverse:
Chronolometer : rectangular, brass panel with a stopwatch-like face in the center, flanked by two metal plungers. The watch face has a black dial with white markings and thin, white hands. Three subdials occupy the 3, 6, and 9 'o clock positions.
Dimensional Loop : virtually impossible to describe the physical appearance of this component. A Klein bottle might come closest.
Far Gear : a small, unsettlingly-toothed gear, made of some sort of sickly green-glowing metalloid substance.
Rotor of Return : like most things that rotate, this rotor returns.
Timepiece of Travel : an extremely precise clock, which interacts with other extremely precise clocks throughout the multiverse in order to allow an extremely precise locational fix to be obtained.
Wheel of Stars : a wheel that represents the celestial bodies of the Prime Material Plane
Crystal Ball of True-Seeing : a 6-inch-diameter sphere of some polished crystal, which enables the instantaneous perception of true reality across any distance within a given spacetime coordinate system.
