Red Menace
The Red Menace is a disease which appeared around the year 1686 in The High Kingdom and the Empire of Daskar, though a less deadly form was suspected to have gone through the Borderlands nearly two decades prior. It was characterized by by coughing blood and terrible fevers. Those who survive often suffer from damage to their throat and skin. It spreads quickly in most places except the Borderlands, and kills thousands across Sirene. Some consider it a curse by the god Tabath.
