Tiysus
Tiysus is a prominent god in the deserts of Orus, but has a few followers in Oslias, where she is more commonly known as the Goddess of Sand. Her symbol is a sandy dune blowing away in the wind. Dune priests lead prayers to Tiysus' temples. The religion is based on a dualistic, manichean view of the world: Tiysus, the god of life, fire, and magma, and Tiysus' antithesis the Utarr, the god of cold, death, and darkness. Tiysus and Utarr are locked in an eternal struggle over the fate of the world; a struggle that, according the ancient prophecies from the texts of The Book of the Prophet Giarus, will only after a great war the The Sorus, the holy figure and Tiysus' champion, shall fight and kill Utarr's champion, The Book of the Prophet Giarus. Her nemesis, Utarr, whose name may not be spoken, is known as the Lord of Ofath, the Heart of Rock, the God of Cold and Destruction. The Dune priests of Tiysus associate sand with time. They see visions of the future and believe they were made to do goddess' bidding. According to the Priestess Malcorth Belarian, the Goddess of Sand cherishes the weak and lost people and items, making them the most precious sacrifice. The religion of the Goddess of Sand is found primarily in Orus. The Temple of the Tiysus in Zalgrodh is exceptionally large, said to be the greatest in all the world. According to Father Taethion Egnasson, it is about four times the size of the Elmaer's Grand Temple of Oslias in Arandõr. There are few followers of the Goddess of Sand in Oslias. Dune priests can be found in Oglos, Arandõr, and South Warren.
