Erfiell, the Treant of Gulthias (Err-fee-ell)
According to legend, this treant became corrupted after he was struck from the ashen stake that was used to slay the vampire Gulthias. The stake began to corrupt the ancient treant, and the vampire's latent magic caused the stake to sprout, infecting and infusing him with vampiric power. The druid Ludan, long time friend of the treant transplanted it an underground grotto where the druid nurtured the tree until it rooted and the druid felt he would be able to protect both his treant and the world from each other.
Physical Description
Special abilities
Erfiell retains many of the powers of a treant but augmented with vampiric strength. He can root himself to the ground to rapidly regenerate unless exposed to sunlight. Erfiell can use 'Blood Sap Entanglement', an ability to ensnare creatures with blood-seeking vines that drain their vitality. His 'Vampiric Gaze' can paralyze the unwary, and he has a 'Call of the Nocturnal Forest', to summon beasts that have also been tainted by Gulthias' influence.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Erfiell was once a majestic guardian of the forests, a treant of ancient lineage and wisdom. His bark was the color of rich earth, and his leaves were a vibrant green that whispered of life everlasting. Now, twisted by the malignant influence of the vampire Gulthias, Erfiell stands as a grotesque monument to corruption. His bark is blackened and ashy, cracking like the parched earth of a long-forgotten grave. Where once leaves rustled, now only thorny vines and withered branches reach out hungrily towards life to drain it away. The once calm and deep eyes now glow with an unnatural red light, a beacon of the darkness that has taken root within his soul.
