Human, boy or girl, we didn't have the same major but we happened to share a lot of classes in college, spent a lot of time studying together, getting over heartbreak together, partying together, graduated around the same time.
A~nd our majors were similar enough that we kept up a positive working relationship, when Thalia started working as the city commissioner's assistant & her friend was working in (idk) Zoning Law or something~? Which might have tied in close to the construction group.
And they've always been Thalia's friend. Totally platonic, but they trust each other. Now the drama and stress they used to get caught up in seems petty and stupid--it's hard to care about weak resumes or night-long studying next to the bullshit she's engaged with now--but when they relax and chat and banter and bitch things just don't fee so heavy.
But yeah I figure my girl was getting educated in & working in something which is coincidentally very relevant to a conspiratorial ventrue's interests
Lots of politics, on paper and in meetings, lots of feigned courtesy, etc.
In another world, it might've been her friend who was embraced. Thalia thinks about that a lot. Would she have figured out she's a kindred?
Would her friend have told her the truth, or kept her in the dark?
Would Thalia have wanted to know?
She'll never get an answer, and it doesn't matter at all. But when they're talking, sometimes she zones out thinking about that.
She's glad it was her, and not her friend. But she doesn't know if that's because she likes the power, or because her friend was spared of this stress.
She only works at the zoning office...but sometimes I might need information she can get me, and it feels disgusting to use her like that
