The Archivists Order

The Archivists Order is an organization of curators and librarians located in Autara. The order is in charge of caring for the Library archives as well as studying the world around them, and recording their findings. Its Members are master scholars and have extensive knowledge of the history and magic of the world.

The archivists are headquartered in the capital, but many of their members will travel for their research. Some Archivists have set up offices outside of the capital but these are much smaller and less highly regarded than the Library in the capital.

The Order is run by a council of senior members who make decisions regarding the running of the library, approving research, and raising apprentices to members.

Organization

Apprentices & Senior Apprentices

Apprentices are students training to become archivists. They are assigned a main mentor who will oversee their training and tutors and teachers for more specific subjects.

Senior apprentices are the more experienced apprentices who are given some authority over other apprentices.

Archivists

Once they have completed their apprenticeship they would be raised to be a full-fledged member with the title of Archivist.

Besides doing their research, Archivists also participate in teaching Apprentices and running the library and archives. After a few years of membership, Archivists may be given an apprentice of their own to mentor.

Senior Archivists

Senior Archivists are the most skilled and experienced of the Archivists; they have at least a decade of experience as full members.

They also hold the right to sit on the council that makes decisions for the Archivist order.

Relationship with Magic

The order is apprehensive of Magic, considering it a complex and unpredictable element of nature. As such, most magical studies focus on existing literature and magic objects, and the council regulates research plans focusing on magic -especially complex magic.

It is the Archivists who discovered and documented the existence of the Magic Core, mostly through the observation of Magic Users as well as the examination of the body and organs.
