Stone Guardians

The Stone Guardians are stone statues found in the Hill Lands, commonly surrounding towns and villages. Many of them are new, mimicking an older tradition, but some are centuries old.

The Stone Guardians, especially the oldest ones, are rumored to have magic powers and are said to protect the hill lands in times of great need and disaster.

Physical Appearance

The Stone Guardians are often hip-height and carved out of solid white stone into the shape of armored men and women. They are most often located near towns and villages, surrounding them like border poles.

History

Most of the statues are fairly new, only a few decades old, but some are older, centuries older to the point where no one knows which was the first one or in what circumstances they were first created. However, according to Hill Landers' legend, the Stone Guardians protect the hill lands and its inhabitants from danger, with the oldest being considered the most powerful.
