The Primordial Dragons
The first of the dragon kin are called the Primordial Dragons and precede the mortal races and the gods. They are mythical beings tied in with creation but do not feature actively in many tales after the second age. All cultures refer to them, confirming their historical ties. They are four in number, no more and no less. Bael the ancient fire, Fortinbras the lord of the deep, Hurnjord the enduring and Nicabel the skyweaver. They each represent an aspect of elemental power, and cultures with a more enduring memory revere them as the first souls and lords of the elementals.
