Sjelheim
Parallel to the Prime material exists another plane of existence, Sjelheim the spirit realm. A long time ago the two worlds were one, before men ever walked the lands. Now it is its own world, but still deeply connected. The spirit world is mirrored and connected to the prime material plane and share many traits but differ in some. One notion that has been agreed to by most is that time in the spirit world passes faster relative to that of the material world. There are crossings in the material plane that leads to the spirit realm, usually in places of power or where nature is particularly wild. Such places are rare, and such locations are often hard to reach or guarded by druids or faeling. Young men and women have entered such portals and returned as adults or even wrinkly old. The spirit world is both the world of dreams and it’s own tangible realm. All life in the prime material is connected to it, in a symbiosis of souls. Once a life ends in the prime material the essence of its spirit passes on to the spirit realm, bringing with it vitality, memories, and life. In return, the spirit realm reflects its vitality across. Thus allowing life in the material realm to flourish and for new life to bloom. The exemption to this is people tied to the gods, their soul assends on to an afterlife either with the Radiant gods or is cast down to one of the five hells of the Nether plane
