Mistshores

Mistshores is easily one of the least explored coastal regions in southern Baleria. It a coastal stretch of land that is full of mangroves, swamps, jagged cliffs and all manner of nasty creatures that lurk in the murky waters and thick mist. Its name is not without merit, due to currents and an excessively humid climate its shores are constantly shrouded in mist. Most sailors hate and fear the stretch of land as a maritime plague. Most ships that drift into the mist are never seen again. Currents and winds ensure that its pointless to brave the sea as everything is relentlessly pushed back to the shore. The population of the region is predominantly lost ancestors of travelers, comprising a wild mix of sentient species. It’s a strange place where people mix freely as there is little room for discrimination when so much of your habitat is out to eat you. This has lead to a strange mix of cultures as people from all over southern and eastern Baleria get mingled together in the small habitable places that are literally carved out of the wilderness. All manner of people and races all are forced to live together, setting aside differences in order to survive. Mistshores is virtually impossible to leave once you get there. Even if you can fly there are creatures in the air that will seek to hunt you. To leave you must brave the swamps and the mountains, an impressive feat. Mistshores is basically a piece of the wildlands that some poor people are forced to live in.
Just about everything here benefits from your demise, even the trees might kill you to nurture their roots. The swarms of bugs will drive you insane, the horrors that lurk in the murky water drive you to thirst from fear, another traveler might hunger for your flesh. Trust nothing here. Trust no one.... Trust no one,

Geography
Facing the ocean to the south and near impassable mountains in the north, the in-between is just a hellish blend of mangroves, jungle and swamp, amidst cliffs and forsaken ruins of long lost civilisations.
Fauna & Flora
The fauna and flora can simply be described as verdant. Others would just name it nasty and stop there. It's really up to you to explore.
