Genasi

The Genasi are elementally changed people, men, and women who in their ancestry have been exposed to the raw magic of one of the elemental powers.

Air Genasi

Amongst the Genasi, the air genasi, or windsoul genasi as they call themselves are perhaps one of the most well known, due to their carefree and sometimes roaming nature. Air genasi are fast and free-willed, even for other genasi, and in some ways represent many of the stereotypes about genasi in general. For instance, while most genasi see one another as parts of a larger family this is particularly true for air genasi, and the bloodlines of many air genasi are so old and so untraceable that air genasi, as a whole, tend to view one another as cousins—even air genasi they've never met before. Likewise, though this bond of kinship is strong, it is also highly competitive, another trait which is typical of all genasi, but particularly true for air genasi.   Free spirits, air genasi rarely settle in one place for long unless it offers stunning aerial views. Thus Air Genasi tribes tend to be found at the top of wild mountains that are hard to reach.   Their ability to breathe through their skin also means they never suffer from altitude sickness. As all air genasi are imbued with air elemental magic, a quirc of this is that mass for pound, they weigh half of what a similarily buildt human would. This results in them being quick and lightly buildt, but fairly weak. Air genasi typically have light blue skin, eyes, and white hair. A faint but constant breeze accompanies them, tousling the hair and stirring the clothing. Some air genasi speak with breathy voices, marked by a faint echo. A few display odd patterns in their flesh or grow crystals from their scalps.   Windsoul Although not common, genasi as a whole all carry elemental magic in their soul, and they have a much higher frequency of storm sorcerers amongst them, as many as a third as a whole, and in some tribes, the bloodlines are so strong that nearly every member shows some talent as sorcerors. Besides sorcerors, it's not uncommon amongst members of the race to become druids, while few chose the path of wizards, as few have the patience required for it. As religion goes, there are no strong culture for it, but those that do typically revere Peltimon, for luck. More commonly they revere the spirits of the air, and the natural cycle.
