Catfolk

Catfolk are a strange mix of feline and humanoid. Catfolk exemplifies both the best and worst of felines. Curious and brave, prone to exploration but also quite egoistical and quick to anger. Other folks have learned to live carefully next to catfolk and seldom expect kindness without strings attached.   Catfolk often live in loose communities and intermingle freely with other species. Social and suckers for curious trinkets, generous to friends, and vicious to foes. They tend to live life to the fullest, enjoying all life has to offer. A saying goes that only in age does the cat temper and gain wisdom.

ability score increase: They gain a +5 to their Dexterity score, +3 to their Wisdom or Charisma score. -3 to Strength and -2 to their Constitution score. Dexterity can be raised to a maximum of 24 and Wisdom or Charisma can be raised to a maximum of 22 without the aid of magic. They cannot raise their Strength score above 14 or constitution above 16 by normal means.

race features:
Cat's Claws. You can use your claws instead of unarmed strikes. They count as simple melee weapons with the finesse property. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d4 + your Strength or Dexterity modifier in slashing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.   Cat's Talent. You have proficiency in the Perception and Stealth skills.   Dim Light Vision. You can see in dim light as in bright light, although colors become muted.   Feline Agility. Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.   Cat's Grace. Your nimbleness makes you quite comfortable with heights. You have resistance to fall damage, and take no damage from falls below 20 feet. You also don't land prone from falling.   Natural climbers. Your claws are excellent for climbing. While your hands are free and you are not wearing footwear, you have a climbing speed equal to your normal speed. This only applies on surfaces where your claws can find purchase.   Catnap. owning to your feline ancestry, you need a full 10 hours of sleep to constitute a long rest. It needs not be uninterrupted.
Origin/Ancestry
One of the few species that can trace their lineage back to a de facto origin. Being uplifted from felines by arcane means sometime during the second age.
