Ahren Petrovic
Ahren Petrovic was born in the quiet town ofMaveia . He is the first-born (and only) son of the wine merchant Janko Petrovic and his wife Sanja Petrovic. Ahren has two younger sisters, Jana and Rahela. Jana is the oldest of his siblings.
A hothead who often got into fights as a child, he was sent of to a temple school at the tender age of 8 years to curb his enthusiasm for fistfights.
At the ripe age of 20 years he returned to his home town, where his father had high hopes that he would be a worthy son to inherit the lucrative wine merchant business.
Ahren did indeed learn to curb his anger, largely by being beaten and gently humbled by a wandering monk who had taken residence at the temple school as their self defence teacher. The wandering monk by the name Miralei Uediba saw a soul with the promise to be a star pupil given the right encouragement and conversion to The Way .
Ahren thrived in this environment, and have become a strong believer in The Way, to the dismay of the temple priests and everyone around him except his teacher Miralei Uediba. At the age of 20 years, he has already reached the peak of martial arts, able to best a score of men in a single turn or fell great beasts such as Ogres with his bare hands. Thankfully his lethality is tempered by the restraint of The Way, who preach a form of non-aggression.
His father on the other hand is dismayed at the man who came home from the temple school. He despaired at Ahren being his heir when it became obvious that Ahren has become a feverent believer that wealth is a curse. Images of Ahren giving the family fortune away to beggars or worse made him take to the bottle. However, Ahren's mother Sanja is the real brain of the family and has long since groomed Ahren's sister Jana to be the heir.
When Ahren discovered that his parents were seriously considering selling him into indentured servitude to make way for Jana becoming the heir, he decided to take up the life as a wandering monk (following in the footsteps of his teacher) as soon as he had settled his debts of honor in Maveia.
