Marianna

Marianna [she/her] lives on the northern edge of town. She chose the location specifically for its privacy, to separate herself from the rest of the Milago. As such, Marianna does not entertain guests in her own home. She limits her business to the Targe and Tankard Tavern & Inn (which is owned by Elijah) as a way to draw attention away from herself.   Officially, Marianna is the "postwoman" of the Milago. She is responsible for delivering private messages from one person to another. Everyone in town trusts her to fulfill her role, knowing she will not betray their confidence. In actuality, Marianna is a Bedoowan, who serves as a spy for Kagan. She was planted into the community as a young girl and now reports back to Kagan on what's happening in the village.    Marianna uses her long hair to hide her ears, concealing her identity as a half-elf. She pretends to be human. Marianna can speak Common, Elvish, Dwarvish, Gnomish, and Halfling.   That said, Marianna has become somewhat disillusioned with the life of nobility, finding great joy in serving a simpler role among the Milago. Unfortunately, she is in a bit of a bind. If she quits, Kagan will have her executed, or worse, end up working in the Milago mines. Her best bet is to see Kagan be dethroned and the Bedoowan destroyed. As such, she is a part of Rellin's resistance. She still delivers accurate information to Kagan to maintain her cover, but not enough to endanger Rellin's plans.   When she isn't walking among the Milago, Marianna spends much of her time in either the Targe and Tankard Tavern & Inn or at home. At home, she spends a lot of time seeing to her secret work: Creating a written language for Denduron. Her efforts are kept in a safe, hidden in her bedroom. It is locked with a higher-quality lock (requiring a successful DC 20 Dexterity check with thieves' tools to pick) and trapped with a poison needle trap.
