Ink Sickness

Transmission & Vectors

A tiny squid known as the Qillas attaches to the brainstem and releases a degree of ink into the bloodstream that will destroy the nervous system. This allows the Qillas to feed on the psychic agony of the individual.

Symptoms

Crippling pain, insomnia, mood swings.

Treatment

Removing the Qillas is the first step but will only limit the progression of the disease.

Prognosis

Most die rather quickly in agony, a few have mastered the pain and though permanently weakened they can control the Qillas.

Affected Groups

Anyone can be afflicted.

Prevention

The condition is rare but the Sea Hell is not forgiving.

The Qillas will mostly bind to fish and seagoing mammals and it is rare they attach to land dwelling animals.
