History
Laurenette Scott I met "Madame Director" 30 years ago when we were both Junior Archivists. We might have even been friends then, but that was a long time ago. I'm pretty sure DuCarr doesn't know how to work a computer so I feel comfortable being candid here. They are, frankly, not qualified for the Director position. I don't even think they went to college, and I'm not sure how they got the position to begin with. I know the last director, my personal friend Isabelle Lindon, didn't appoint them. After she disappeared, DuCarr just got the job. Not that I'm suggesting that the two events are connected, but it is suspicious. In fact, DuCarr is suspicious in general. She's also extremely officious. She acts like she's better than the rest of us, watching us from her office like we're ants, all the while pretending that the Archive is "one big family." And she never eats the cookies I bring to office parties. The Director Ah yes Laurenette, an old friend of mine. They are an excellent archivist and have consistently produced top-quality work. They have a long and fruitful career ahead of them. Although we used to be old friends, I am aware there is some... friction between us now due to my appointment to directorship. However, I strive to remain cordial and I hope to regain that old relationship we had. Frankly, I appreciate their candidness, it really keeps me grounded and aware of my actions. Even though there is some tension, I still consider both of us part of the Archival family, and who ever heard of a family without at least a little conflict? I just hope their jealousy does not prevent our eventual reconciliation or cause their work to decline. And I would eat their cookies, but I've been on a diet and don't want to cheat too much.
History
Seren Liu I don't know the Director terribly well since we've always worked in different departments, but from what I have seen and what little experience I have with them from schmoozing at parties and fundraisers, they seem pretty cool. They clearly care a lot about the employees of the Archive and the work we do here. They spout a lot off about making the Archives a family, which I don't really buy into but it's a nice idea. Plus they could kick my ass, which is hot. The Director Ah yes, young Serendipity. The Lius have been great friends and members of the Archive for quite a long time and Seren follows in that path as well, despite his mannerisms. Though his writing won't win any awards, his diplomatic skills are incredible. The somewhat goofy act he puts on hides a very shrewd negotiator. The Archive does try to maintain as low of a profile as possible on worlds, though that is sometimes impossible. When things really take a turn for the worse, Seren can often get us out of a tough spot. Sometimes, a pretty face is what you need. Regardless, in a month we're gone anyways. And Seren, I do not eat the cookies. I throw them out to prevent vermin like ants, rats, and imps.
History
Johannes They're the Director, for now. Not a half bad one. Don't try and argue with me about the Engine, let me do what needs doing, and tell me when something's borked. No complaints. The Director Ah Johannes, an excellent and long time member of the Archive. He gets to the point and has a voracious appetite for new technological research. His work on the Engine is some of the best progress we've made in mythotech; he is the expert on the matter after all. While I would prefer he be slightly less curt with those around him, I frankly can't argue too much. I do enjoy speaking with him when our paths cross and our conversations are often quite stimulating, perhaps I should swing by later with some tea.
History
Tony Ambrose Right, right, DuCarr. This suit's got more guts than first meets the eye. I've worked under their type before - behind the cordiality and the smiles, there's a hardness of purpose in their eyes. I actually met and worked with them a bit back before they were the Director - they had that same determination back then too. I legitimately do not mind all those various suicide missions they send me on just to boost efficiency numbers; the numbers are, in fact, boosted. The Director Tony has been one of our most reliable staff members to date. While The Reality Engine provides basic data about our host world, we usually send Tony through first just to make sure the other side is actually safe (to a certain degree). He's quite popular with some of the away teams, leading the charge like that. Without him, our work would be substantially harder, and we are thankful to have him and the service he has provided to the Archive. While I have no idea how he ended up in this predicament, he seems to have taken to it fairly well. If he would like help in learning more about this loop, the best minds in the Archive I am sure will be happy to help.
