Aonad

Written by SnoopFluffy

The continent of Aonad is the second biggest continent and makes up 24% of Whisperworlds land mass. 80% of Aonad is located close to the equator, but climate is, due to Whisperworlds greater distance to the sun, comparable to modern day France.

Geography

Aonad is mostly flat. The western Highlands are one of the few exceptions to this rule and unravel into a harsh, jagged landscape and a coastline with hundreds of small islands. The more you travel east the more woods you will encounter until the most eastern sixth of Aonad is covered by one gigantic forest.

The Spindlesylphs live mostly in the eastern woods and grow their crops and mushrooms on the surrounding plains. They form small villages built from white wood and blueish grass roofs. The clans of the far east live under giant mushrooms fields forming around giant, hundred feet wide godtrees.

Fauna & Flora

The trees of Aonad bear most resemblance with birches, though the leaves are less saturated and the hue is shifted a bit towards yellow and glow at night. The grass is long and a bit blueish. Fruits, crops ans mushrooms grow really big and are easy to farm. Most animals are partly photosynthetic. The "Mammals" are covered in protofeathers instead of hair. The longest of these feathers have bushy tips, which are often colored in purple tones. Aonad contains still a lot of megafauna and is home to the spindlesylphs and twinborn , the only sentient lifeforms on Whisperworld.

Natural Resources

Birch like wood from the forests, giant meadow mushrooms, crops from the fields, fruits, milk from 4 foot big bugs called Chartipters, medical resins, braidable grasses from the plains
