The Knighthood of the Sable Leaf are Eaglan's most staunch defenders, they began centuries ago and are based out of Tower Island. It is rumored that tower island has been watching over Eaglan even since the Second Age and that the knights there posses some knowledge of second world secrets.History
Established in the early days of the third age, the knighthood has watched over Eaglan as long as it's been around. It's rumored that as long as there are Knights of the Sable Leaf on tower island that Eaglan will never fall.
Execution
The tradition of taking the Sable Leaf is one that is headed up by the Regant of Eaglan and the head of one of the knighthood's orders. The recipient of the honor is presented before the court of Eaglan and they are knighted, accepting the title of Knight of Eaglan and the honorific of Sir, Ser or Dam.
Once the knighting is complete the new knight is sent to Tower island to be inducted into the order's more esoteric secrets.
Components and tools
The tools of knighting are a sword held by the regent and a single pinion feather of a raven held by each member of the. Often the Knight is also presented with an embroidered belt of black green and gold bearing the symbol of a raven.
Observance
New knights are created as an individual distinguishes themselves in one arena or another. There are orders in the Knighthood for Warriors, Spell Casters, and Champions. A member distinguished in their field can be approached by the Knighthood and asked to undertake a quest to gain entry, if turned down they will not ask again, but if accepted then the aspirant is given their quest and no time frame to complete it in. From that moment forward they are under the eye of the order and everything they do is scrutinized.
